The Sunday Reset Routine That Actually Changed My Week

Sundays are literally underrated for a reset. A Sunday reset is a girl’s best friend, and honestly, it’s the best way to start your week despite the Monday blues. I love doing a Sunday reset, even though some Sundays do look different for me, as I sometimes do reformer Pilates about an hour or 2 after waking up. I know it’s crazy, but I love being fit, what can I say?
Now my Sunday reset, as I said, it’s a bit different each time, but here are my non-negotiable Sunday rest that I have to do literally every single Sunday. If not, I don’t know what happened to me at this point.
1. A Calm Morning
In the mornings, I do like to wake up feeling really calm and soft, despite my fiancé’s alarm that wakes me at 5:00 every Sunday. He does put it on snooze, and I go back to sleep. The next thing I know, he is completely gone. He’s already at work, and his alarm did not wake me up. He’s really good at not waking me up in the mornings. He doesn’t make a sound, and I absolutely love that because he understands how important Sundays are to me and how crucial my sleep is.
On Sunday mornings, I do wake up more calmly, depending on how I’m feeling. I would grab a Cuban coffee that he or my father would have already made for me. Sometimes I do drink coffee, and other days I don’t drink coffee at all. If I do, it’s like one tiny shot. Typically on Sundays, I try to keep caffeine to a minimum, to zero, since I don’t really want to be that active, that hyper, or any of that. That to me isn’t a nice, relaxing way to spend my Sunday mornings.
2. Active
As I mentioned, sometimes on Sundays I like to get my workout in. Whether that be me going for an hour-long or two-hour walk, sometimes to get my 10k steps in, or doing Pilates before most Workouts, or doing a home ab workout, or weightlifting at home with the little dumbbells I do have, I do like to be active. I’m very active every single day, despite my 9-to-5 job, where I normally sit at a desk looking at a computer all day long. Even during my lunch breaks at work, I do go for a half-hour walk, and I absolutely enjoy it.
On Sundays, I do try to be as active as I can, but again, it could be Pilates, it could be me going for a nice walk for an hour or two, depending on how I’m feeling and how hot it is outside. This morning I couldn’t go on my walk just because it was raining like crazy, but I did do my reformers Pilates, which I’m really proud of. I know tomorrow, Monday, I’m gonna feel like crap, so by the time you guys are reading this post on Tuesday, just know that, most likely, Monday I was in a lot of pain. I’ll keep you guys updated for sure.
3. Skin Care
Skincare is essential for me, and it should be for you, too. When it comes to skincare, the one thing you should really understand is your skin type. To determine that, you have to follow these steps. Each skin type is completely different, and that’s perfectly okay. Not everything is supposed to be the same for all skin types. There is:
- normal skin
- dry skin
- combination skin
- oily skin
- sensitive skin
- mature skin
and so on and so forth.
Make sure you read my next blog post, coming out on Friday, about how to determine your skin type.
4. My Everything Shower
Now, this is something that I can never miss on a Sunday. It would be my everything shower. That, to me, is my me time, the time that I could just fully relax, exfoliate my body to the T, like literally take off every dead skin of my body. I exfoliate, I cleanse, I shave, I wash my hair. That’s when I’m in the shower for about an hour, running the hot water, and I feel absolutely amazing once I get out. Then I start moisturizing my face, moisturizing the rest of my body, and getting into some comfy pajamas, and I am a brand-new woman after that. Now, for my everyday shower, here is my actual routine:
After that, I’m pretty much going into my pajamas and relaxing, watching a movie, watching Netflix, watching HBO, scrolling on my phone, because I’m pretty much done for the whole entire day.
I first thought of my dry brush to exfoliate all of that body off my skin.
I like to go into the shower and start shaving. I do use the EOS shaving cream with one of my razors. I forgot the brand name, but I go in, I shower my whole entire body literally at this point (at least that’s how it feels like), and move on.
I would go in with my Redken shampoo and conditioner, wash my hair, cleanse it, take all the dirt, grime, and oil off my curls, and let my curls revive and breathe again.
Afterward, I use my loofah, which you can literally get anywhere in Target or on Amazon. I’ll probably put the link so you guys can have it as well and buy from it. I like to go in with my loofah and the Dove soap. My key thing to smelling amazing is using Dove soap. It’s so freaking good, like to the T. It’s really good. I have the Bridgerton Dove soap they collaborated on, and I was able to get it. Every so often, if I’m not using a dry brush for exfoliation, I actually go in with a Dove body scrub, which is also really good and smells amazing.
Once I get out of the shower, I actually start to just go in with all of my lotions, every single lotion that I own that I carry, whatever the case may be. I go in with a little bit of body oil. I like to know that I’m clean, that I smell good, and that my skin is like dolphin skin, super soft.
At night, I go in more with my facial skincare, my face skincare routine that changes every so often. I do like to exfoliate my face and remove any little peach fuzz I might have around it. I like to go in using the retinol A or another cream that I use on my face in the morning and at night. It is a rough chemical to use. It’s better than the retinol A. It doesn’t make your face feel peely unless you don’t hydrate, so with these types of creams, you do have to hydrate your face as much as possible.
5. Content Create
Sundays have officially become my one day to truly create content, sit down at the computer pretty much for the whole entire day after I work out or anything. I do like to sit on my laptop and just create content, a content batch, whatever you want to call it. I like to jot down my ideas and record a YouTube video, a TikTok video, or whatever type of video. These are the days when I pretty much write my blog post, record my podcast, or essentially anything that I would like to record that week and post in that week on social media. That way, I don’t have to really worry about it.
I do like to use my auto post app that I have that just helps me post everything, and I don’t really have to think too much about posting myself, because let’s be honest, I don’t have time and now I don’t have the mental capacity to remember, “Oh crap, this blog post is already live and I didn’t even post about it. Oh crap, this video is live, and I didn’t even post about it.” Thankfully, I do have an app for that, and it’s been helping me out.
Stay tuned for my other articles, because I will be talking more about the apps that are literally saving my life when it comes to content creation, overall writing, podcasting, and so much other information that is just outstanding to me right now.
